Win-7,  No LCD brightness control bar
I cannot find LCD brightness control slide bar. Help appreciated. The place I looked for is /Control Panel/Power Option/Display Time/. There must be something like ''Planned brightness control" slide bar for each battery use and powerline use on this screen, but there is not. (I use Japanese version, so wording may be different.) The PC is Dell notebook, Vostro1220. I replaced the HDD as it was too small, and reinstalled Win-7 from attached DVD. Working fine except above problem. I have several other PCs. Dell notebook Inspiron 1545 with retail Win-7(32) does not have this problem. Dell desktop Optilex330 with another reatail Win-7(64) has the same problem. AdvaThanksnce Tak

Typically that feature is found with the enhanced driver from ATI and NVIDIA, not sure about Intel's integrated offerings as I do not have them with Windows 7 Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! IT/Developer, Windows/Linux/Mainframe

Um, I wonder. 1. Vostro1220 has Mobile Intel 4 Series video chip. And does NOT work. Driver version is 8.15.10.2082 2. Inspiron1545 has also Mobile Intel 4, and DOES work. Driver version is 8.15.10.2082, too. 3. Optiplex330 has Intel G33/G31, and does not work. It sounds that there is other reason than video chip. Tak

What OS's are each of those systems running? All the same or different?

OSs are: Vostro1220 runs Win-7(32) pro Japanese version with the latest patch. Installed XP first then installed Win7 from product-attached Win7 DVD disk, using the XP. Inspiron1545 runs Win7(32) ultimate, Japanese version, latest patch. Installed from retail Win7 DVD directly. Optiplex330 runs Win-7(64) pro upgrade version, Japanese version, with the latest patch. Upgraded from XP (or may be Vista, I forgot). Tak
